Instructions
1. On each piece of paper (placemat), trace around a plate, glass, napkin, and
silverware. Laminate for durability.
2. Place plates, napkins, silverware, and glasses on a shelf or in the center of the
table. The children can help carry small serving dishes and other additional
items to the tables.
3. After children have washed their hands, encourage them to take a placemat
and corresponding items to set their own table space.
4. After the meal provide labeled containers and a small bucket of water and
washcloths for each child to clean up his own space.
5. If desired, let children create their own placemats to use daily.
6. Transition activities such as this provide you with the time to prepare food
without the children having to sit and wait.
