Instructions

* Grandparent's Day is the first Sunday after Labor Day.
1. Prior to Grandparent's Day, teach the children the following song to the
tune of "You Are My Sunshine."
You are my grandma (grandpa),
You are my grandma (grandpa).
You make me happy when skies are gray.
You'll never know, dear, how much I love you,
I'm so glad you came today!
2. Ask the children to think of something they enjoy doing with their
grandmother or grandfather (or both), and then ask them to draw a
picture of this.
3. Invite grandparents to class to celebrate Grandparent's Day. Share the
pictures and song.
