Instructions

1. Put twigs and leaves in a terrarium.
2. Purchase live crickets (available at bait shops) and put them in the
terrarium.
3. Place the terrarium in a quiet area at toddler eye-level.
4. In the morning, when the crickets chirp, ask the children to find out
where the sound is coming from.
5. Periodically throughout the day, ask the children if they hear the
crickets.
6. Move the cricket cage to various locations and listen. (Note that the
crickets' rate of chirping increases at the temperature increases.)
