Instructions

What to do
1. Show the children samples of real wool, together with the pictures of ewes and lambs, and talk
about how sheep are sheared.
2. Ask the children to take turns using the templates to trace one big sheep and one small sheep
on the construction paper.
3. Invite the children to cut out their sheep, helping them as necessary.
4. The children can draw faces on their sheep and then glue on bits of the real wool for a realistic
effect, "matching" the mother and baby if they wish.
5. Enjoy the flock of sheep and encourage the children to appreciate how animals help people!
More to do
Dramatic play: Invite the children to act out "Mary Had a Little Lamb" or "Little Bo Peep."
Snack: Make lamb-shaped sugar cookies for snack.
