* Groundhog Day is February 2nd.
1. Make a header card using tagboard for the top row of a pocket chart
with the question, "Will the groundhog see his shadow?" Add a picture of
a groundhog.
2. On the left side of the card print, "Yes" and on the right side print, "No" to
make a column for each answer choice underneath the question.
3. Laminate the header card for durability, and trim the excess away.
4. Place the header card in the top row of a pocket chart and read it to the
children prior to February 2nd.
5. Make a name card for each child using tagboard. Ask them to place their
name cards in the column that represents their prediction.
6. Count the responses and compare the results.
7. Follow up the activity on Groundhog Day to see if the class prediction
was correct.
