Materials

Two trays, one tray with various fruits, nuts and vegetables and the other with corresponding seeds, cleaned and dried

Note: some of the selections could be: orange, apple, watermelon, walnuts, papaya, avocado, peach, apricot, mango, pumpkin, squash

Instructions

1. Discuss the names of the various fruits and vegetables and nuts with the children.

2. Place the trays of food and seeds on a table and allow the children to observe and touch.

3. Encourage them to guess which seeds belong to which foods.

4. Cut up fruits and vegetables to show children the corresponding seeds.
