Materials
5 to 10 small objects (erasers, assorted crayons, coins, stickers, marbles)
Instructions
1. Show the objects to the class and ask them to try and remember each one for a guessing game.
2. Choose five volunteers (one for each object) to come to the front of the room and hide an object behind their back. Move the five children around so the rest of the class will not remember where the objects are.
3. Ask a review question about a concept they have learned prior to this activity. The children who answer correctly may choose one of the five children up front to reveal a hidden object. The child shows it to the class, places it on avisible surface, and joins the rest of the children.
4. Continue asking review questions until only one child is left standing with the "mystery" object still hidden. Ask: "What's remaining?" Encourage the children to look at the objects on the table and use the process of elimination to guess what it is. The child reveals the object after it is guessed.
5. Play the game again until everyone has had a chance to be in front of the class.
