Materials

dark or thick clothfour different shapes (from an attribute set)

Instructions

1. Introduce the shapes to the children, telling them the names of each one.

2. Cover all the shapes with the cloth, and remove one without the children seeing which one you take away.

3. Pull back the cloth, and ask the children to identify which shape is missing.

4. As the children become proficient at the game, consider removing two shapes at a time, or making the four shapes different colors, and having the children name the shape and the color that is missing.
