Instructions

1. Any time the children are restless and they need to line up, get their
attention by putting an object (beanbag or stuffed toy) in your pocket.
2. Take out the object and ask the children to pass it over their head to the
next child.
3. The next child finds a new way to pass the object, for example, by passing it
through his legs or by turning around. To avoid throwing, remind children
that they cannot let go of the object until the next child is holding it.
4. Vary this by asking the children to balance the object on their shoulder,
head, or another part of their body and see how far they can walk before it
falls. When it falls, the next child has a turn.
5. Children can work in pairs holding the object by walking or standing
together and copying what the other child does. Large motor skills can also
be incorporated by doing movements such as hopping with the object.
