Instructions
1. Place photographs of activities or draw pictures of activities on a piece of laminated cardboard. Use this choice board to transition children to small group activities after a gathering time.2. Provide each child with his own nameplate that has Velcro on the back.3. Encourage the children to choose their desired activity by placing their nameplates under the picture of the activity. (You can do this earlier in the day too.)4. Call the children's names to let them know when to go to their chosen activity.Note: This board is also ideally suited for activities led by teachers with a small group of children or activities that are self-directed. Possible ideas for activities can include music, movement, literacy, small group games, manipulatives, science or nature discovery, large motor skills, art, and fine motor materials.More to doYou can use the choices of activities daily for a week or longer. This allows the children to try different activities and repeat their favorites.
