Instructions
l Cut up the honeydew melon, kiwis, apples, and pears. Mix all the fruit in the
bowl to create a big fruit salad.
What to Do
1. Offer the green fruit
salad to the children.
Have the children name
the colors they see.
2. Ask the children to
identify the fruits they
see in the fruit salad.
Name the fruits they do
not recognize.
3. Encourage the children
to describe the taste of
the different fruits.

l Use green bowls, forks, and napkins to complement the green fruits.
Assessment
To assess the children's learning, consider the following:
l Review the colors of the foods the children ate. Can the children name the
different fruits and then think of other foods that are green?
