Instructions

* April is National Frog Month.
1. Talk about how frogs can jump great distances, up to 20 times their body
length. Their back feet are strong and webbed. Talk about what webbed
feet look like and show the children pictures of frogs.
2. Ask the children if they want to find out what it is like to have webbed
hands. Ask them to spread the fingers on one hand and swish it through
the water in a tub or water table.
3. Talk about how easy it is to move their hands through the water when
their fingers are spread out.
4. Now have the children put a plastic sandwich bag over one hand and
move it through the water again.
5. Ask them if it feels different with the bag on their hands.
More to do Outdoors: Take this activity outside and have the children do long jumps
into the sand.
