Instructions

1. Write each child's name on a nametag. Make one for yourself too.
2. Put everyone's nametag on the floor in the middle of the circle.
3. Pick up a nametag and read the name.
4. Ask that child to tell the group one thing about herself. You may want to
go first to model for the children what to say, or have a list of questions
to help them get started. For example, "Do you have a pet?" "What is your
favorite thing to eat?"
5. After a child names something about herself, have her choose the next
nametag.
6. Let children use mirrors to look at their faces or eye colors.
7. Once everyone has had a turn, return the cards to the circle for another
round if the children still seem interested.
More to do Make lists of similarities as the children name their traits. For example, all
the children with brown hair, with pets, who live with their grandparent,
and so on.
