Instructions
1. Give each child a clear plastic bottle and lid. Help the children use funnels to fill their bottles half full with water.
2. If desired, the children can color their water by adding a drop of food coloring. However, if they add too much food coloring, it becomes difficult to see the items placed inside. If the water appears too dark, pour out some water and dilute it with clear water.
3. Ask each child to choose a type of oil to add. Each type of oil adds a different effect to the flow and is a different color.
4. Put various small items into the bottle.
5. Place the lid on the bottle (making sure it is very tight). Wipe the lid and bottle with a cloth to remove excess oil, and tape the top to secure it.More to doAsk the children to bring in items from home to place into the bottles. Encourage the children to compare and contrast the different bottle creations.
