zipper-seal sandwich bags
large bucket of waterInstructions
1. This is a great activity for a hot summer day when the children are
dressed in swimwear and or have easy access to dry clothing at the end
of playtime.
2. Fill the bags with water by dipping them in the water bucket and zipping
them shut. (Note: This is a great alternative for games requiring water
balloons because the bags are much easier to fill and close, and usually
can be reused. Bags can be filled at a sink, but the bucket is handier for
refilling them.)
3. Divide the children into groups of two. Partners should stand about 2'
apart and face each other.
4. Each pair tosses a water bag back and forth. The object is to toss it gently
and carefully so that the bag doesn't break open or drop. Children may
count their successful tosses aloud as they play.
5. Refill or replace bags as often as needed. Partners who succeed at a short
distance can gradually move further away from each other to increase
their skill level.
More to do This game may also be played with wet sponges.
