Templates of shapes (basic shapes and others such as trapezoid, hexagon, and pentagon) sample wallpaper books, preferably the largest size available scissors markers ruler gallon-size zipper-closure bags
Instructions
1. Cut out two identical shapes (about 10" x 10") from each wallpaper page using templates. If you don't have templates, use a ruler or freehand.
2. Place two or more sets of each shape in the zipper-closure bags. These bags will hold at least 30 to 40 shapes.
3. Encourage the children to match or sort them by shape or pattern.
4. If desired, cut out a variety of sizes of shapes and have the children sort them from smallest to largest.
