Instructions

1. Teach the children the following song:
Pick It Up by Laura Wynkoop
(Tune: "If You're Happy And You Know It")
If you find a bit of garbage, pick it up.
If you find a bit of garbage, pick it up.
You can make our planet cleaner,
And our plants a little greener,
If you find a bit of garbage, pick it up.
2. Tell the children it helps the
environment to pick up litter.
Remind them to always wash
their hands after picking up litter.
Assessment
Consider the following:
* Do the children learn to sing
the song?
* Ask the children what they should do
when they see garbage on the ground.
