Materials
Red, pink, or purple construction paper, 2 pieces per child
Scissors
Hole punch
White and red yarn, approximately 1 yard per child
Glue
Construction paper in a variety of valentine colors
Black marker
Instructions
1. Cut a roll of refrigerated sugar cookie dough into slices.
2. As you give each child a slice, talk about circles. Ask, "What else can you eat
that is shaped like a circle?"
3. Mix egg whites, water, and food coloring together into bowls to make
different colors.
4. Encourage the children to brush on their favorite color.
5. Put the cookies on a baking sheet. Bake as directed on the package.

Art: Put out a variety of round objects, such as cups, glasses, plates, pan tops,
and cookie cutters. Encourage the children to trace around the objects to make
different-sized circles.
