More to do
Science: Make sprinkler rainbows. On a sunny day, turn on a water sprinkler and
ask the children to stand with their backs to the sun. Show them the rainbow.
Turn off the sprinkler off. What happens to the rainbow?
More Science: Hang a crystal in a sunny window. Ask the children to find the
rainbow that is cast on the wall or floor. Discuss what happens when the sun no
longer shines through the window.
Snack: Make Rainbow Ice. Fill ice cube trays with water and squeeze a few
drops of food coloring into each compartment. Freeze them. Put the colored ice
cubes into clear plastic cups with water or other clear beverages.
