Materials

2 sheets of card stock (8 1/2 " x 11")

scissors

glue

laminator (optional)

pictures of animals found under the sea

brad paper fastener

Instructions

1. This is a great activity to do as children arrive in the morning.
2. Draw a happy face on one side and a sad face on the other side of each card.
Put a child's name under each face.
3. When the child arrives, let her turn her card in the pocket chart to show
whatever she is feeling.
4. Let the children talk about why they are happy or sad, either in a group or
individually. Help them express their feelings and learn how they can change
their moods.
5. Make graphs with the faces in the pocket chart and see which has the most,
happy or sad. Read the graph with the children and let them tell about their
feelings.
