Instructions
1. Cut out pictures of dinosaurs from books, the Internet, magazines, and so on.
Make copies of each picture so that there is a set of pictures for game cards
and an identical set of pictures for the lotto boards. Each picture should fit
within a 2 1/2 " square.
2. To make the lotto boards, create a grid of nine squares (three down and
three across) on each 8" x 8" square of oak tag. Make each square 2 1/2 ".
3. Glue one of each picture pair to a square on the board.
4. Glue the matching pictures to 2 1/2 " oak tag squares. These will be the cover
cards.
5. Make a variety of lotto boards and cover cards, making sure that there are
enough for each child to have one.
6. Laminate the lotto boards and cards and cut out.
7. To use, invite the children to place the lotto boards and cards on a table or
floor. Place the cards in a pile, face down.
8. Let the children take turns drawing a card from the pile and placing it over
the matching picture on their board. If the picture does not match any on
the grid, the child puts the card at the bottom of the pile and the next child
has a turn.
9. The goal is to cover all pictures on the grid.
