Materials

Colored art tissue paper Scissors

Liquid starch Paintbrush

White paper Water for rinsing

Instructions

1. Cut art tissue into a variety of shapes.

2. Dip a paintbrush into liquid starch and use it like glue to paint and stick tissue shapes to white paper.

3. Overlap shapes to create new colors. Rinse the brush in clear water between painting over the tissue paper colors. This will keep the colors bright.More to doArt: Use starch to brush tissue pieces onto clear plastic wrap. Then dry and tape the picture to a sunny window. * Use liquid starch to glue tissue pieces to wax paper. * To color Easter eggs, brush over the tissue shapes on the eggs with liquid starch. Allow to dry; remove the tissue paper and see the colored egg!More science: Layer the following colored tissues to make new colors: magenta over yellow to create red; bright blue over yellow to create green; magenta over bright blue to create purple; combinations of all three to create black.
