Instructions
1. Cut out one construction paper "block" for each color of cardboard blocks onthe shelf.2. Use a marker to write "red block," "blue block," and so on on eachcardboard block.3. Use clear contact paper to attach each paper block to its own shelf (or sectionof a shelf).4. At clean-up time, help the children as they put away the blocks by matchingthem to the colored paper blocks already on the shelf.5. If desired, assign each child a color to pick up. For example, Sandy is in theblue group so she picks up the blue blocks. Other days, ask the children topick up their favorite color and put away all the blocks of that color.More to doMath: When the children are putting away blocks, talk about big, little, andmedium blocks and discuss rectangles and squares. Also, separate block playitems into categories. For example, have a bin for people, one for cars, and one
