Instructions

1. When you have a few spare moments during circle time (or any time), start
saying this sing-song rhyme to get the children in a rhythmic mood:
Move chucka-lucka-lucka,
Groove chucka-lucka-lucka.
2. While sitting in a circle, add some simple hand motions to get into the spirit
of the rhythm. Then, stand up and start adding body parts to the rhyme, for
example:
Head chucka-lucka-lucka!
Hips chucka-lucka-lucka!
Knees chucka-lucka-lucka!
3. These body parts will be the moving parts that are emphasized as you say
each rhyme (two or three times).
4. Give as many children as possible a chance to choose a body part to do the
chucka-lucka-lucka! Encourage both "silly" and "sane" movements.
5. Continue as time allows.
