1. Read Rosie's Walk by Pat Hutchins to the children.2. Show the children the pictures of Rosie's path through the barnyard. Discussthe story, paying special attention to directional words, such as over andunder.3. Encourage the children to use blocks to build the path that Rosie took.4. After they build the path, the children can use a small toy chicken or roosterto recreate Rosie's walk.
