Instructions

1. Read or tell the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Then say, "The three
bears were so tired after a long walk in the fresh air, then arriving home to
find their house a mess and a stranger sleeping in one of their beds, they
needed some rest. Will you help them get ready for bed?"
2. Give the children colored construction paper. Ask them to draw three beds
one large, one middle-sized, and one small and cut them out.
3. Ask the children to glue the beds on a piece of manila paper. Encourage
them to draw pillows on the beds or cut them out of construction paper and
glue them to the bed.
4. When the beds are finished, they can draw the three bears sleeping on the
beds.
5. Ask the children to cut out quilts for the beds from construction paper. If
desired, provide wallpaper or fabric scraps and demonstrate how to cut or
tear the pieces and paste them on the quilt to make a patchwork quilt.
6. The children can paste the quilts on top of the bears. Help them write the
bears' names on their quilts.
7. Encourage the children to make up a bedtime story to tell Baby Bear before
he falls to sleep.
