large piece of yellow paper

scissors

large piece of white paper

black marker

glue or glue stick

hole punch

string

Instructions

1. This is a great activity to transition the children to outdoors.
2. Show the children pictures of wind and its effects. Talk about breezes versus
tornadoes and hurricanes.
3. Help each child cut a strip of crepe paper approximately 4" x 24".
4. The children move around the room. They can start by imitating a light
breeze and move slowly from side to side. Then the wind gets stronger and
moves faster. They can imitate tornadoes and dust devils that go around.
5. The wind just blew the children down the hall and outdoors.
