Instructions

Sing the following song to the tune of "The Farmer in the Dell":
The squirrel finds an acorn,
The squirrel finds an acorn,
Hi-ho the derry-o,
The squirrel finds an acorn.
The squirrel digs a hole...
The squirrel buries the acorn...
The acorn grows and grows...
An oak tree grows there now...
The oak tree grows leaves...
The oak tree grows acorns...
The leaves fall down...
The acorns fall down too...
Then the squirrel comes around,
The squirrel comes around,
Wait a minute.
The whole thing starts all over!
More to do Cut out felt pieces of the elements of the song squirrel, acorn, oak tree,
and so on. Use the felt pieces and a flannel board to re-tell the song.
