Instructions

1. Cut out large numerals and tape them to craft sticks or straws.

2. Invite the children to sing the following song to the tune of "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands." Begin the first verse by holding up the numeral 1:I've got the number one in my hand.I've got the number one in my hand.I've got the number one in my hand.I've got the number one in my hand.

3. Hold up signs with different numerals on them and invite the children to sing the song using those numerals instead of the numeral 1.

4. Let different children hold the numerals and vary the song as follows.Who's got the number one in her hand?Who's got the number one in her hand?Who's got the number one in her hand?(Child's name)'s got number one!5. Sing it through and have the child who has the numeral stand up and hold the numeral up.
