Instructions

1. Talk with the children about the United States. Ask the children if
they can think of images that remind them of the United States.
2. Show the children the pictures of American symbols. Explain their
importance to the United States.
3. Put two of the images in an ABAB pattern, and have the children
identify the pictures.
4. Give the pictures to the children and encourage them to copy the
pattern.
5. After the children complete the pattern, make a new pattern for the
children to copy. Continue this through several patterns. Consider
letting the children make patterns for one another to match.
