1. Draw the face of a worm on a paper plate and attach it to the wall.
2. Select a picture book and read it to the children.
3. After you have finished reading the story, mark the title on another paper
plate and ask a child to tape it to the first plate.
4. Every time you read a book to the children, write the title on a paper plate to
add to the "bookworm."
5. Watch the bookworm grow and encourage the children to count all the
books that have been read. Mark favorite stories with a big red circle in the
middle of the paper plate.
