Instructions

1. Teach the children the following song:
What Can We Do by Anne Adeney
(Tune: "What Shall We Do With the Drunken Sailor?")
What can we do to care for our Earth? What can we do to care for our Earth?
What can we do to care for our Earth, Every bright new morning?
(Additional verses)
Turn off the taps when we brush our teeth...
Turn off the lights when we leave a room...
Keep the doors shut when the heat is on...
Give old things away, don't throw them out...
Recycle packaging for something new...
2. Repeat the first line of each verse three times (two syllables on last word) and
add, "every bright new morning."
3. Teach a new verse each morning. All day concentrate hard on doing (or not
doing) what you have sung about.
Teacher - to - Teacher Tip
* Make up simple verses to match what you are teaching.
Assessment
Consider the following:
* Ask the children one way they could save water.
* Ask the children what is the best thing to do with good clothes when we grow
out of them.
* Ask the children why we need to turn off the lights when we leave a room.
