Instructions
1. Show the children pictures or models of different kinds of buses.
2. Encourage them to share their experiences with buses, such as where
they've gone and in what kind of bus.
3. Arrange classroom chairs to look like seats in a bus.
4. Talk about going on a "magic bus" ride. The children can choose to go
wherever they want.
5. Let the children file onto the "bus," sit in chairs, and put on pretend seat
belts.
6. The bus driver (adult or child) discusses the bus rules.
7. The children pretend they are in a moving bus going over bumps and
around curves. Sing "The Wheels on the Bus."
8. When you have reached your destination, ask the children to leave the bus in
an orderly fashion.
9. This is a good activity to prepare for departure at the end of the day.
More to do Field Trip: This activity provides good practice for children who will be going
on a field trip.
