Materials

Two 2" x 4" boards

glue

feathers

variety of soft fabrics (corduroy, fur, burlap)

Instructions

1. Cover the 4" sides of the 2" x 4" boards with the feathers and fabric. Use
glue to secure the materials.
2. You can also use glue to create a texture by using dime-sized drops of glue
and allowing them to dry.
3. Each material should cover at least a 3' section to ensure the children step on
each kind.
4. Use the boards as balance beams that the children walk on in their stocking
feet.
