Drawing paper Crayons

Water Wax paper

Glass or syringe Brown paper bag

Plastic bag Paper towels

Fan

Instructions

1. To prepare for this activity, choose a volunteer to color on a few pieces of drawing paper.Have the child color hard in several separate areas on the paper.

2. Pour or drip small amounts of water onto the crayoned piece of drawing paper and the waxpaper.

3. Wait a minute, then hold each paper up to see if the water has penetrated the paper or ifthe paper was waterproof.

4. Pour some water into the paper bag and into the plastic bag. After a few minutes, let thechildren feel the bottoms of both bags. Which is dry? Which is soggy?5. Put two wet paper towels on a table. Aim a fan onto one of the paper towels for a few minutesand leave the other one to dry naturally.
