* Write a different number on
each card and put the cards
in a box.
What to Do
1. Let a child pick up a card
from the box and stand
outside the door of the room.
2. Ask the child to knock on the
door as many times as the
number written on the card.
3. The other children sitting
inside the classroom have to
listen and tell how many
times the child knocked.
4. Let the other children take
turns knocking.
Assessment
To assess the children's learning, consider the following:
* Can the children count their fingers in ascending order?
* Can the children identify the numbers written on the cards?
