Instructions

1. Teach the children the words to the following song ("Take Me Out to the
Ballgame" written by Jack Norworth and Albert Von Tilzer):
Take me out to the ballgame,
Take me out with the crowd.
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack,
I don't care if I never get back.
Let me root, root, root for the home team,
If they don't win, it's a shame.
For it's one, two, three strikes,
You're out
At the old ball game!
2. Ask parents to help their children find and cut out magazine photos of
popcorn and peanuts. (This can be a school or home activity.)
3. Have the children glue the photos onto paper plates. Glue one craft stick
onto each paper plate.
4. Sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" again. Demonstrate how to wave the
paper plate when singing the words "buy me some peanuts and Cracker
Jack."
5. Invite parents to sing along.
More to do Snack: Invite parents to help prepare, serve, and eat a popcorn and peanut
snack. Safety Note: Check for peanut allergies. If anyone is allergic, just
serve popcorn.
