Instructions

1. Make two-sided nametags with both sides different colors. For example, cut
out identical red and green apple shapes and glue them together (or use
white paper and color each side a different color). You can use any shape you
want.
2. Help the children write their names on each side of the nametag.
3. Use map pins to hang each nametag on a bulletin board at children's eye
level.
4. Each day before the children arrive, write a question on calculator paper and
hang it above the nametags. Examples of questions are: "Did you have fun on
the field trip?" "Did you play in the snow?" "Are you wearing red today?"
5. Each child's parent reads the question to his or her child. If the child's answer
is yes, the child hangs the apple with the green side showing. If the child's
answer is no, the child hangs the apple with the red side showing.
More to do Math: Use the answers to the questions to make a graph. Discuss the results at
circle time.
