Instructions

1. Ask the children to stand in a circle. Give each child a different colored scarf.
2. Place the sombrero in the center of the circle and explain what it is. Tell the
children that they will be doing a Mexican hat dance.

3. As you play the music, they are to move in a circle waving the scarves. When
you stop the music, yell out one color in Spanish. The children with that
color scarf move to the center of the circle and sit around the hat.
4. Begin the music again and continue until all the colors are called.
5. Following are some Spanish words and their pronunciations for different
colors:
* rojo (roho) red
* verde (bearday) green
* negro (naygro) black
* morado (more-ah-doe) purple
* azul (azool) blue
* anaranjado (ah-nah-rahn-hadoe) orange
* amarillo (am-a-reeho) yellow
