Materials

Paint or food dye in 3 or 4 colors3 or 4 bottles of white glue

Polystyrene plates, one per child

String

Instructions

1. Add a different color of paint or food dye to each bottle of glue.

2. Give each child a polystyrene plate.

3. Have the children squeeze glue from the bottles onto their plate, filling the bottom of the plate.Encourage them to make a design using different colors.

4. Place a loop of string in the glue toward the edge.

5. Set the plates aside for a few days to allow the glue to dry.

6. When the glue has dried and hardened into a disk, help the children gently peel it away fromthe plate.
