Large poster of the sun and the moon

Poster board

Scissors

Instructions

1. After discussing the color purple, ask the children if they would like to eat
something purple.
2. Pour three packages of unflavored gelatin into 1 1/2 cups of hot water.
3. Stir in the grape juice.
4. Pour the mixture into a greased 9" x 13" pan and put it into the refrigerator
to chill.
5. When the mixture is firm, remove it from the refrigerator and cut into strips.

Outdoors: Go on a "purple walk." Go outside (or walk around the room) and
encourage the children to find things that are purple.
Science: You could use this activity as a little science lesson. Talk about other
things that start out as a liquid but can turn into a solid, such as water into ice.
