* Valentine's Day is February 14th.
1. Give each child two pieces of red construction paper. Show them how to
put the pieces of paper together and fold in half.
2. Help the children draw half a heart shape on the folded paper.
3. Have the children cut out the heart shapes (there will be two identical
shapes).
4. Help them place their two heart shapes together and staple the hearts
together around the edges, leaving a 1" opening (to stuff ).
5. Let the children stuff the hearts with paper towels until it is full, and then
staple the hearts closed.
6. Encourage the children to drizzle glue on their hearts and sprinkle with
red sparkles. Let dry.
7. Punch a hole at the top of the hearts. Place a string through each hole
and tie. Hang them up from the ceiling or on a wall.
8. Let children give these hearts to their loved one for
Valentine's Day, or place them in your classroom
for a heart-filled room.
