Lunch kit with special book snack inside
Instructions
1. Chant the following poem about pancakes with the children.
Pancakes, pancakes
Round and thick
Pour on the syrup
And eat it up quick.
More to do
(Because we live in New York state, we are able to take part in sugaring. In the
spring, we tap a tree on the playground for sap. We use a drill and collect the
sap in a metal bucket and then boil it down.)
Dramatic Play: Cut out cardboard circles and cover them with brown paper for
pancakes. Cut out squares from yellow construction paper squares for butter, and
use little pitchers for pretend syrup.
