Instructions

1. Cut 12" circles out of construction paper. Using a large, bold marker, write a
numeral in each circle, one for each child in the class. If there are 16 children
in the class, for example, write the numerals 1 to 16 in the circles.
2. Place the circles in numerical order in a line on the floor of the classroom or
hallway. Cut a square piece of contact paper for each circle, making sure each
is larger than the circles. Put the contact paper squares over the circles to
hold them in place on the floor.
3. Number an index card for each child. Put the index cards in a shoebox.
4. When it's time to line up, have each child pick a number from the box, and
then stand in line on the matching circle.
