Materials

blue, red, and white poster board

scissors

ruler

glue

tape

Instructions

* Independence Day is on July 4th.
1. Cut blue poster board into 5" x 1" strips and red poster board into 5" x 1/2 "
strips.
2. Give each child a blue strip and a red strip. Show them how to glue the
red strip in the center of the blue strip. Let dry.
3. Have them bend their strips into a circle. Overlap the ends about 1/4 " and
secure with tape.
4. Cut a star for each child out of white poster board.
5. Help children tape a star over the secured ends of their rings.
6. Have them fold or roll a napkin and slip it into their napkin rings.
