Worms Large glass pie plate

Chart paper Markers

Instructions

1. Bring in several live worms from outdoors and place them on the glass pie plate. Let the children observe the worms and record their observations.

2. Let any child who wishes hold a worm. Talk about how the worms feel, look, etc. Ask the children, "Are worms insects?" Discuss why they answered yes or no.

3. Be sure to return the worms to their habitat.More to doArt: Using pieces of rug yarn, let the children dip the yarn into brown tempera paint and drag it across a piece of paper to make "worm tracks."
