Instructions

1. To make the web, children paint the bottom of apaper plate holder with black paint. While it is stillwet, children lay a piece of paper on top, rub itand lift it off. This makes a realistic looking spider web.

2. To make the spider, give each child a single egg section of an egg carton. Children paint thesections black and let them dry, then turn their egg sections upside down and push fourholes in the sides using the tip of a pen or pencil. You may need to do this for the youngerchildren. Show the children how to push the four pipe cleaners through the holes so that theyare sticking out through both sides (making eight legs).

3. Children can place their spiders on their webs.More to doField trip: Take a walk and look for real spiders and their webs.
