Instructions
1. Every couple of weeks, have a special number day.
2. Ask parents to help their children choose a specified number of items to bring to school to share or to add to the snack.
3. Make special number buttons out of construction paper for the children to wear during the day.
4. Put out the special number of puzzles, or colors of paint.
5. Example of a number 5 day:* Children might wear five ponytails, five ribbons, five bracelets, or five chains.* Put out five puzzles, five games, five colors of paint, and five colors of markers.* Let children create special number 5 buttons to wear.* Ask each child to bring five crackers to share at snack time.* Sing songs and fingerplays with the number five ("Five Little Ducks").* Count by fives during circle time.
