Materials
several keys
Instructions
1. Give each child an assortment of keys to sort. Since keys often look very similar to each other, make sure they are very different from each other (different shapes, colors, and sizes).
2. Ask the children to describe the methods they used to sort the keys, such as color, shape, size, and so on.
3. Mix up the keys and have the children regroup them using different categories from the previous sorting.
4. When the children have sorted the keys a second time, ask them to count how many keys they have.
