small plastic baggiessmall items that will fit in the baggies (pennies, paper clips, pennies, marbles, crayons, and so on)marker

Instructions

1. Mark each bag with a numeral.

2. Put out several items for the children to sort into the bags.

3. Demonstrate how to sort the items.

4. Explain that they should carefully look at their items so that they can sort correctly; for example, if they only have one crayon then they should use that in the first bag and not save it for the bag that needs five items.
